This unique academic project engaged second-year students of the\u00a0undergraduate program in Fashion Design<\/strong>, offering them an invaluable opportunity to work with one of the most respected names in Italian artisanal excellence.<\/p>\n

Le Costantine: A Heritage of Textile Art and Female Empowerment<\/strong><\/p>\n

Located in a beautiful rural estate near Lecce,\u00a0Fondazione Le Costantine<\/strong>\u00a0has been active since 1900, preserving and promoting\u00a0traditional textile crafts<\/strong>\u00a0through a\u00a0sustainable and socially conscious model<\/strong>. Its artisanal excellence has attracted international attention, including that of\u00a0Maria Grazia Chiuri<\/strong>, former creative director of\u00a0DIOR<\/strong>, who has been collaborating with Le Costantine for years. Together, they produce\u00a0exclusive handcrafted textiles<\/strong>\u00a0woven on manual looms by local artisans.<\/p>\n

The Project: Resortwear Capsule Collections Between Craft and Innovation<\/strong><\/p>\n

The academic collaboration resulted in the development of\u00a0women\u2019s resort capsule collections<\/strong>, guided by designer and faculty member\u00a0Lika Kubaneishvili<\/strong>. Students were challenged to incorporate\u00a0recovered and scrap fabrics<\/strong>\u00a0from Le Costantine\u2019s artisanal production, combining them with\u00a0natural materials<\/strong>\u00a0to create collections that are both\u00a0modern and sustainable<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

This design process encouraged students to merge\u00a0cultural research and aesthetic innovation<\/strong>, creating garments that reflect a\u00a0refined lifestyle concept<\/strong>\u00a0while expressing each designer\u2019s personal identity\u2014always in respect of the materials and their cultural significance.<\/p>\n

The project culminated in a\u00a0final presentation of the capsule collections<\/strong>, attended by\u00a0Cristina Rizzo<\/strong>, President of Fondazione Le Costantine. In her remarks, she praised the\u00a0contemporary vision, freshness, and consistency<\/strong>\u00a0of the student designs, highlighting their ability to\u00a0reinterpret traditional craftsmanship in an original and conscious way<\/strong>.<\/p>\n
